About

A resource for pharmacy owners choosing a website — not a sales brochure

Pharmacy Website Designs exists to answer the questions an independent UK pharmacy owner has before they commit to a website: what should it actually include, how much should it cost, is online booking worth it, and how do you tell whether the one you've already got is doing its job.

We built it because, having built and audited a lot of pharmacy websites, the same questions came up again and again — and most of the answers online were written by generic web design agencies with no idea how a pharmacy actually operates, or by big pharmacy-sector platforms aimed at multiples rather than independents.

Who runs this site

Pharmacy Website Designs is part of PharmaPresence, which builds websites, manages Google Business Profiles and runs booking and marketing systems for independent UK pharmacies. We're upfront about that connection because it's the reason we know this subject in detail — not something we're trying to hide behind a "neutral" resource site.

You don't need to talk to PharmaPresence to get value from anything here. The guides, checklist and examples on this site are meant to be useful on their own, whoever ends up building your website.

What you will find on this site

  • Pillar pages on the biggest questions: redesign, cost, online booking and SEO.
  • An interactive website checklist you can use on your own site in a couple of minutes.
  • Real website examples with notes on the design decisions behind them.
  • Shorter guides on common mistakes, getting more bookings, and service pages for travel clinics, weight management, ear wax removal and Pharmacy First.
  • A free website review if you would like a second opinion on your own site.

Who this is for

Independent community pharmacy owners, superintendent pharmacists and pharmacy managers in the UK. If you run a larger multiple, much of the advice still applies, but we write with independents in mind: smaller teams, tighter budgets and the need to compete on service and trust rather than scale.

How we approach the content

  • Plain English over jargon. You should not need a marketing background to follow it.
  • Specific over generic. The advice is about pharmacies, not small businesses in general.
  • Careful with health claims. Pharmacy services are regulated, so where rules apply we say so and point you to the regulator or official source rather than guessing.
  • Honest about limits. We try to say when something is not worth doing, as well as when it is.
